Your data and privacy
Where your files are, what leaves your computer, and how keys are stored.
Kutter mainly works on your computer. It only sends data out for the AI or voice services you choose.
Your files stay on your computer
- Original footage stays where it is. The app never moves, changes, or uploads it (for HEIC photos, the app makes a JPG copy in the project folder).
- Projects and rendered clips are in your ที่เก็บงาน (Work Location). See or move it in ตั้งค่า (Settings) › ทั่วไป (General).
- Your keys are stored in Windows Credential Manager, or in an encrypted file in the app data folder on Mac. They are never sent to us.
- Sound library The app only reads the files in the folders you add; it never moves or changes them.
What leaves your computer
- Transcribing with local Whisper The audio never leaves your computer.
- Transcribing with ElevenLabs The audio is sent to ElevenLabs for transcription.
- Using AI The transcript and channel info (such as the channel name, "ร้านกาแฟของฉัน" (My Café), and its style) are sent to the AI provider you chose (Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini), under that provider's terms.
- Voice-over and voice cloning The text or the recorded audio is sent to the voice provider you chose (ElevenLabs or Gemini).
- B-roll search Only the search words are sent to the picture sources you turned on.
- เชื่อมต่อ Claude (Connect Claude) (MCP) is off by default. When it's on, Claude Desktop / Claude Code on the same computer can read and control your projects. Whatever Claude reads falls under your Claude account. Turn the switch off when you don't use it.
What is sent to us (you can turn it off)
- ตัวเลขสถิติ (Statistics) under ข้อมูลการใช้งาน (Usage Data) in ตั้งค่า (Settings) › บัญชี & โควต้า (Account & Quota) sends numbers only, such as how many channels, projects, and clips you have, the app version, and the operating system. It also reports that this computer opened the app today (when the app opens and once an hour, even before you sign in) so we can count active devices. The device ID is one-way hashed before it's stored. It never sends project names, scripts, files, or content.
- Automatic error reports in ตั้งค่า (Settings) › ทั่วไป (General) send technical data when the app has a problem. If the app closes unexpectedly, they also send a crash dump (the program's state at that moment). They never send your clips or scripts.
- กิจกรรมในแอป (In-App Activity) (off by default) sends which pages you open, what you click, and whether it worked, to Google Analytics anonymously. It never sends project names, scripts, files, or text.
- You can turn these switches off at any time, and the app still works fully.
Account
Signing in with Google is used to confirm your plan and count Credits when you export. It isn't used to see your project files. If you cancel your membership, your project files stay on your computer as before.
Deleting data
- After you delete a project in the app, clear the leftover files in ตั้งค่า (Settings) › ทั่วไป (General) › ล้างถังขยะ (Empty Trash). Your original footage is never touched.
- To delete a key, clear its key field on the Settings page.
If something goes wrong
- If you don't want audio to leave your computer, choose local Whisper in ตั้งค่า (Settings) › ถอดเสียง (Transcription).
- If you're not sure what data is sent, email us at support@helloworld-solution.com.
